Intercultural Development Assessments

The Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®) assesses intercultural competence—the capability of individuals and organizations to shift cultural perspective and gain a greater understanding of the organizational level of awareness and knowledge on racial equity culture. The IDI can provide a snapshot of the level of intercultural competence within an organization. The results can provide guidance for policy, practice, and structural changes to maximize systems for greater intercultural competence and humility. The IDI is grounded in a comprehensive, cross-culturally validated, and reliable theory of intercultural competence. The Mosaic Group has obtained a license to use the IDI® from IDI, LLC.

Cultural Immersion Programs

This is an experiential-based, 6-week program that focuses on understanding and exploring cultural humility through direct and indirect immersion experiences. Together, participants will select a cultural or racial group, and over the course of six weeks, will learn about and experience the cultural practices and norms and values of their chosen group through both direct and indirect immersion in that culture. Examples of immersion experiences include attending cultural events such as theater or art exhibitions; listening to music; and watching movies related to the cultural group. Participants will meet weekly for facilitated discussions.

Intercultural Coaching for Groups and Individuals 

Intercultural coaching is designed for those who are living and working in a multicultural context so that they might gain a better understanding of their own way of relating to different ways of thinking and communicating. Intercultural coaching can facilitate how to optimize cultural differences for success in organizations.

Using a combination of organizational surveys, interview methods, and research-based assessment instruments, The Mosaic Group will collect and analyze organizational data to provide an overview of the actual inclusion challenges and opportunities, which are often surprisingly different from the perceived issues. A Development Plan will be customized for your organization to help it reach its inclusion and belonging goals.

Vision and Mission Evaluation for Alignment to Inclusion Goals

The difference between inclusion in theory and inclusion in practice can be profound. Despite good intentions, many organizations are structurally unprepared to fully support inclusive missions. Through review of your organization's strategy, structure, processes, and people practices, we will work to ensure that all components of the organization are working in harmony so that your organization can achieve its inclusion goals.

Appreciative Inquiry Workshops

Appreciative Inquiry is an established method based in positive psychology to engage groups in self-determined change. It focuses on what each organization is doing right to achieve its goals and build upon those positive attributes. The process of Appreciative Inquiry empowers organizations to discover their strengths and capabilities, dream about the future they envision, and design the organization to fulfill that mission.
