Why The Mosaic Group?
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion are words often used together, in that order, as a reflection of current trends in conversations about race and culture. The Mosaic Group believes that it is time to change the order of these words. Inclusion must come first and diversity and equity will follow. When an organization strives for inclusivity, there is a shift in mindset from focusing on how differences look, to a focus on how people feel. When individuals feel safe and valued, their full potential emerges. When the synergy of individual potential is captured and intentionally applied within organizations, diversity and equity become unconscious behaviors and engrained in the culture of the organization.
The work of The Mosaic Group is founded on principles of organizational psychology. As a scientifically based research-practitioner, founder Cynthia Sibold possesses unique expertise in the design, execution, and interpretation of human psychology in the context of organizations. As a true professional, she adheres to the standards and ethics of her profession.
What does this mean? The Mosaic Group puts people first when addressing the challenges of real inclusion. Understanding what motivates individual human beings when they are part of a group provides a pathway to optimizing organizational functioning and creates success.
“Cynthia is a brilliant organizational leader and consultant who specializes in building capacity and creating community at every level of an organization. During a pivotal time in our congregation’s life, I worked closely with Cynthia on the implementation of a visioning process and quickly learned to rely on her to diagnose situations and translate insight into strategy. She has a rare ability to understand context, engage leaders, and create change with impact. I thank God for her many gifts and talents, and for her calling to build organizations that shape and bless the world.”
—Rev. Dr. Sarah Butter, Senior Pastor, Wellesley Village Church
"Cynthia has great strengths in organizational and leadership techniques. She has very effective approaches in her toolbox that were helpful to the Refugee Dream Center. She is very observant. By observing, she came up with great suggestions and ideas that were incredibly helpful to the individual leadership development of personnel at the Center. She interviewed staff and Board members and by listening carefully came up with great themes that are currently being incorporated by the Board of Directors to develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the organization."
—Dr. Omar Bah, Executive Director, Refugee Dream Center
"St. Peter's on-the-Rock is a small summer parish serving a cottage community in Canada. During the pandemic, Cynthia engaged our parish leaders in an organizational assessment, using one-on-one interviews. She then shared her findings in an informative debriefing session and provided a comprehensive written report. This experience was enlightening and very useful to our forward planning. At all times Cynthia was both professional and compassionate, and a joy to work with."
—R. Corbett, Vestry Committee Clerk, St. Peter’s on-the-Rock
“Through Cynthia’s dynamic assessment of our Church’s vision and how it relates to real-time functionality, we are now blessed to have the tools to implement growth and further inclusiveness.”
—Ward Strickland, Senior Warden, St. Peter’s On the Rock
“Awareness and the willingness to change will lead us to be a more open and accepting Church community, with an emphasis on the role of youth, thereby ensuring renewed vitality for future generations.”
—Ward Strickland, Senior Warden, St. Peter’s on-the-Rock
